iFood is seeking a Head of Economics to lead the economic analysis team and support the formulation of public policies and regulatory strategies. This role involves connecting macro and microeconomic analyses, regulatory studies, and strategic decisions to sector challenges. The Head of Economics will ensure real business impact and position iFood at the forefront of relevant discussions.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the economics team, fostering integration with other areas, and ensuring analyses have strategic business impact.
- Developing economic models applied to public, regulatory, and strategic policies.
- Analyzing economic, social, and regulatory data, focusing on financial modeling and impact assessment.
- Conducting analyses of macroeconomic and sectoral trends impacting the company, using robust econometric models.
- Contributing to corporate policy formulation and strategic decisions, considering micro and macroeconomic, regulatory, and public policy aspects.
- Developing pricing models and elasticity analyses, considering costs, consumer behavior, market competitive dynamics, and business objectives.
- Evaluating the economic and social impact of internal programs and strategic projects, based on economic metrics and evidence.
- Producing and coordinating applied economic research aligned with the company's objectives and speed.
- Ensuring economic research, forecasts, and models are accurate, aligned with business objectives, and delivered in a timely manner for decision-making.
- Contributing to developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) of economic performance.
- Adopting and promoting new technologies and analytical tools that increase the efficiency and accuracy of economic analyses, leading digital transformation initiatives in the area.
- Building narratives that support decision-making and iFood's actions on topics such as digital platform regulation, social security, tax reform, and artificial intelligence.
- Supporting discussions and evaluations on price elasticity, promotions, and the impacts of regulatory changes on the business model.
- Expanding the team's work beyond an academic perspective, strengthening the product mindset and bringing practical and agile solutions to complex challenges.
- Working in partnership with external consultancies to conduct strategic studies and impact analyses.
- Representing the team and its analyses before internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and strategic partners.
- Communicating complex analyses clearly and influentially to diverse audiences, such as C-levels, directors, technicians, and external partners.
- Understanding the problems of internal areas to develop sustainable and scalable solutions with a focus on the product.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A degree in Economics (master's and doctorate are differentials).
- Solid experience in economic analysis applied to public policies, regulation, and corporate strategy.
- Experience with causality analysis and methodologies such as Difference-in-Difference (Diff-in-Diff).
- SQL, R, and Python skills.
- Ability to translate complex analyses into strategic insights applicable to the business.
- Previous experience in team leadership (desirable).
- Advanced English (reading and interpreting regulatory and academic documents).
- Flexible and pragmatic profile, capable of balancing technical rigor and speed of response to complex problems.
- Availability for occasional trips (São Paulo, Brasília, and strategic events).
- Previous experience in technology companies, economic or regulatory consultancies is a differential.
