Oportun is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their engineering team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software solutions, contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role involves leading technology efforts from requirements gathering to product delivery for large initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Utilize Kubernetes to orchestrate and automate deployment of containerized applications
  • Leverage ArgoCD and FluxCD for GitOps-based continuous delivery
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions
  • Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with teams to understand project requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, ArgoCD/FluxCD/Istio/Renovate
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with containerization and microservices architecture within EKS using Knative Services
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana Stack, NewRelic)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with programing language GO/Javascript/Java
