Convera is seeking a Tax Analyst to support the preparation of direct and indirect tax returns in the UK and EU. The Tax Analyst will report to the Global Head of Indirect Tax and collaborate with European & global finance teams and external advisors.
- Working with the wider finance team to collate information for Convera’s indirect and direct tax returns.
- Understanding transfer pricing flows and the impact of the reverse charge mechanism.
- Monitoring and assisting with tax payments and tax administration.
- Learning accounting systems to extract tax-specific information.
- Supporting the development of tax compliance functionality.
- Contributing to the implementation of system improvements and automated tools.
- Helping collate information for tax audits and responding to notices.
- Researching tax technical issues.
- Assisting in advising the business on tax matters.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and a degree in Business Management/ Finance / Accounting or a related topic or tax.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of financial accounting & tax experience.
- Experience in the financial services market (preferred).
- Technical awareness of UK & EU VAT and direct tax.
- Accounting knowledge to assist in calculating VAT and tax accruals.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience of Oracle and FCCS (useful but not essential).
- Self-starter with ability to interact with multiple teams.
- Good level of spoken and written business English.
