Convera is seeking a Manager to oversee the development and utilization of data systems. This role involves managing a high-performing software engineering team dedicated to developing and maintaining a cutting-edge, full-stack serverless application. The application is deployed to Amazon Web Services and aims to streamline cloud development and management processes across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in architecting and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions across public cloud providers.

Role involves:

  • Management and mentorship of team members.
  • Overseeing the design and execution of the Business Intelligence data infrastructure.
  • Developing and enforcing robust cloud security practices.
  • Architecting and overseeing development of cloud-native platforms.
  • Automating and streamlining cloud operations through infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevOps.
  • Facilitating team partnership with backend product engineers and inter-departmental partnerships.
  • Mentoring and developing junior teammates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data management and data governance.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS) and database relational modeling.
  • Expertise in cloud architecture, DevOps, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Hands-on experience with automation, scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and project management (JIRA).
  • Strong background in Cloud Data Platforms.
  • Extensive prior experience as a data engineer.
