Staff Software Engineer- Data Architect

Job Description

Convera is seeking a Staff Software Engineer- Data Architect to oversee the development and utilization of data systems. The ideal candidate will define and implement the enterprise data architecture strategy and ensure robust data governance across the organization. This role involves working closely with data modelers, data engineers, analysts, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure the data platform meets organizational needs and supports data-driven initiatives.

The Staff Data Architect will architect and develop data architecture solutions, collaborate and design data models, ensure data integration, governance, and security, and develop and implement semantic models for business intelligence and reporting. They will also oversee the implementation of data solutions, troubleshoot issues, provide leadership and mentorship, integrate AI and ML capabilities, drive innovation and strategy, and develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10-15 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data management, and data governance
• Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and ETL processes
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and SQL
• Familiarity with database systems such as Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective semantic models using Tableau
• Understanding of AI and ML trends
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
