Oportun, a mission-driven fintech company, is seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in SEC Reporting. This role involves tying out and reviewing financial reports, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, and supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial filings.Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation, tie-out, and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and earnings materials.
- Drafting and reviewing footnotes, MD&A, and other sections of financial statements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including legal, investor relations, and external auditors.
- Maintaining accurate supporting documentation and schedules for all disclosures.
- Monitoring and analyzing changes in accounting standards and SEC regulations.
- Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of quarterly earnings releases and related supporting materials.
Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of general accounting experience.
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.).
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Extreme attention to details.
- Ability to prioritize multiple functions and work with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate well with internal and external partners.
- Time & schedule flexibility.
- Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification preferred.
