Xometry is seeking a Molding/Casting DFM Engineer to join their team and contribute to the company's mission of connecting innovative ideas with manufacturing solutions. This role involves supporting and managing complex projects, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and production partners to optimize part designs and resolve quality issues.Responsibilities:
- Analyzing 3D CAD designs for manufacturability in injection molding and other tooling technologies.
- Reviewing Injection Molding Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reports and providing technical solutions.
- Communicating with external customers via video calls to explain DFM reports, gather feedback, and discuss solutions.
- Optimizing part 3D CAD designs to improve feasibility.
- Participating in meetings to address quality claims.
- Attending pre-sales meetings to provide technical support.
A successful candidate should possess:
- Higher engineering education in thermoplastic processing, plastic part design, or mechanical design.
- Experience in an engineering role within plastic processing or part development for molding/casting.
- Expert knowledge of thermoplastic processing principles and plastic part design rules.
- Understanding of mold flow analysis and plastic post-processes.
- Knowledge of other tooling technologies.
- Strong multicultural communication skills in English.
