Xometry is seeking a Molding/Casting DFM Engineer to bolster its Sales Team. This role involves managing projects, engaging with internal teams, customers, and production, and actively shaping the work environment. The candidate will have the opportunity to implement ideas quickly within the company's agile structure.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing 3D CAD part designs for Injection Molding and other tooling technologies.
- Reviewing Injection Molding Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reports.
- Communicating with external customers via video calls to explain DFM reports and gather feedback.
- Optimizing part 3D CAD design to improve feasibility.
- Participating in meetings to resolve quality claims.
- Attending pre-sales meetings to support technical questions.
The successful candidate should have:
- A higher engineering education in thermoplastic processing, plastic part design, or mechanical design.
- Experience in an engineering role on a production floor or in part development for molding/casting.
- Expert knowledge of thermoplastic processing and plastic part design rules.
- Knowledge of tooling technologies like Vacuum Casting, Compression Molding, etc.
- Strong multicultural communication skills in English.
