Job Description
Agile Space Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their propulsion design team. This role involves working within multi-disciplinary project teams to design, prototype, and produce advanced rocket engines, propulsion systems, rocket test facilities, and payload processing systems. Responsibilities include: - Designing and developing components and assemblies for chemical rocket systems.
- Leading and coordinating design review sessions with cross-functional teams.
- Performing structural, thermal, and fluid analysis of components and systems.
- Overseeing vendor selection and ensuring smooth transition to the operations team.
- Developing and implementing detailed work instructions for assembly, integration, and testing processes.
- Engaging in hands-on hardware assembly, test execution, data analysis, and report writing.
- Identifying and implementing risk mitigation strategies throughout development activities.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration between external customers, internal teams, subcontractors, and cross-functional groups.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and/or manufacturing.
- Proven experience in presenting to customers during design reviews.
- Strong design background with expertise in applying mechanics of materials and fluid engineering principles to complex systems.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, including components, assemblies, and drawings, in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within team settings.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on delivering results on tight timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
