Newsweek, a global media organization, is seeking a Magazine Designer/Art Editor to contribute to the visual storytelling of its flagship magazine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the visual output of Newsweek’s flagship magazine and will play a key role in managing the production cycle from layout to press.

The role involves:

  • Designing weekly long-form feature stories and editorial layouts.
  • Overseeing the production cycle, coordinating with editors and photo teams.
  • Ensuring visual cohesion across platforms.
  • Maintaining and evolving the magazine’s visual identity.
  • Commissioning and art-directing photography, illustration, and infographics.
  • Contributing to the visual planning of feature stories and covers.
  • Preparing files for print production.
  • Supporting content adaptation across digital formats.

Requirements include:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in magazine or editorial design.
  • Exceptional layout skills and understanding of publication structure.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborators.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
