Newsweek is seeking a Senior Illustrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong visual imagination and the capability to create sophisticated photographic illustrations, photo collages, and CGI-inspired visuals. This role is crucial in shaping the visual identity of Newsweek's magazine covers, features, and branded storytelling.Role involves:
- Creating original illustrations for various platforms
- Translating abstract ideas into powerful visuals
- Developing a consistent visual language
- Collaborating with art director and editorial staff
- Working across multiple media including collage, digital painting, and 3D renderings
- Adapting artwork for motion graphics and social media
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of experience in editorial illustrations
- A portfolio showcasing conceptual illustration work in photographic or CGI styles
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of rendering techniques and 3D environments
- Understanding of composition, visual metaphor, and storytelling
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
