Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Aetion

Aetion is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their engineering organization in Barcelona. The individual will be a critical member of the team, responsible for owning Aetion’s cloud-based, containerized infrastructure managed through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The role involves supporting day-to-day operations, contributing to engineering projects, and maturing the infrastructure and automation processes.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely and effective production support. They will develop automation frameworks, streamline processes, and ensure system reliability and uptime.

Responsibilities:

• Perform delivery and production support tasks.
• Continually streamline automation and processes.
• Provision configure and maintain Aetion’s infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Aetion’s development and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely and effective production support.
• Develop automation frameworks to support other development teams.
• Effectively contribute to complex engineering projects while prioritizing operational responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or developing distributed systems with strong knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly AWS and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years developing in Python or Java.
• Proficiency in unix based shell scripting is required.
• 3+ years with tools and languages such as Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, or GitHub Actions (GHA).
• 3+ years with cloud platforms (AWS required, GCP nice to have).
• 2+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with proactive threat prevention, incident response, and implementing compliance programs.
• Experience working with SQL databases, big data platforms, and supporting big data pipelines.
• In-depth experience solving complex issues on Linux systems and/or within the JVM.
• Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
